- Oracle Bones: As part of their religion centered around their ancestors, they would ask their ancestors questions through oracle bones. A question would be asked, the bone will be burned, and a priest will read the cracks on the bones to see the answer.
- Organized the first social Hierarchy in China: They developed a centralized government with a king as a leader who holds supreme power over everyone.
- Writing: The first form of primitive Chinese writing was created, and it was based off of the recordings of the oracle bones. The parchment used was usually bamboo or silk.
- Metallurgy: The Chinese masters on all things bronze while all the other civilizations were just being introduced to it. They mainly created things centered around religious rituals and warfare. Bronze vessels called the Toatie were a primary use of bronze for religion. They were shaped as animals.
